A Short Hiatus
It has been a little while since I have posted, and for this I apologize. I have started a new job and have had to put in some time doing other things. However, I have been listening to Professor Richard Swinburne, specifically a few talks of his which have been posted online. I will post the links to these talks shortly as I would highly suggest them.
I have also been thinking a bit about the nature of philosophy, the role of the church in biblical studies, and the impact of philosophy of biblical hermeneutics. Some of those thoughts will likely make their way to this page before long. Although, given that I am currently preparing for an intercontinental move and readying myself in whatever way possible for graduate school at Oxford, I won’t make any promises.

I have an idea for a new sort of biblical (and other religious text) hermeneutic: namely, identifying and extracting all of the passages that could involve the tinge of the writer’s or the religion’s self-interest. What sort of text would emerge? If you are interested, pls see my post at http://deligentia.wordpress.com/2009/11/01/self-interest-in-religion-and-the-related-conflicts-of-interest/
